01:39:17, 5 September 2014 review of submission by Quejay

My article about French author François Leprieur was rejected on the basis of the subject's lack of notability and a lack of independent, third-party references. I am not asking for a re-review but rather seeking suggestions for addressing these issues.

Leprieur is not a prominent figure. He has written two authorative books, though, about an important movement in France in the 1950s (the worker-priest movement). I thought that an article about an authority on the worker-priest movement would be of interest to some readers.

With respect to references, I wasn't able to find much information other than the sources I cited. I do not dispute the reviewer's comment that my sources consist of author and book pages on publishers' and e-commerce websites. If more information is available on the Web about Leprieur, though, I haven't been able to find it. I thought that if the article were published, someone who has access to more information might be able to add it.

Thank you for any guidance you may be able to provide. Quejay (talk) 01:39, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

By whom is he regarded as an authority on the movement?
Be aware that sources do not have to be online on the web to be useable for proving notability. If his most important work was published in 1989 and was only of interest for a narrow historical or perhaps theological field, then it's unsurprising there may not be reviews by reliable sources that can be found with Google. But it is still possible that reviews did appear at the time. If some independent reliable reviews of both books can be found, then this should suffice to prove notability. Jaspreetbadhanpoet (talk) 06:16, 5 September 2014 (UTC) this my own original work how can you say that this is copyright work?[reply]

If it is your work then you own the copyright to it. Do you wish to freely license it so that it can be used on Wikipedia? The instructions for doing so are at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted material. However, I should note that as someone who is going to publish his own book (but has not yet done so), the person may not yet be notable enough for there to be an article about them in Wikipedia. I am not necessarily requesting a re-review, but recently moved an article from "article for creation waiting to be reviewed" to a "live page." I am a registered user and did not mean to have it in the AFC category. Can you review the article for me, or tell me how to eliminate the AFC review tag at the top of the page without causing any problems? Thank you!

Done it was a simple matter of editing. Use the history tab on the article to see how I did this. Fiddle Faddle 21:29, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

17:39:36, 5 September 2014 review of draft by Findrgroup

Hi - I'm working on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Gravity_Media&action=submit and want to make sure I "sign" it appropriately on the talk page, but am unsure how to do that.

My username is Findrgroup if that helps you identify the page.

Thanks,

Adam Findrgroup (talk) 17:39, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Findrgroup: You only need to sign your comments on talk pages, as I've signed this comment. Your draft is submitted for review. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:24, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

THEN TELL US WHY YOU ARE REQUESTING A RE-REVIEW BELOW THIS LINE. Take as many lines as you need. -->}} Why was my article denied? What should I correct? Rocroa86 (talk) 18:38, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Rocroa86: You don't have sufficient citations. You provide only one general reference and you need at least a few in-line citations to prove the subject meets our criteria for athletes. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:13, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How do we insert a photo in the article?

Rocroa86 (talk) 21:00, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Rocroa86: You don't appear to have made enough edits to have an autoconfirmed account in order to upload images. Once your autoconfirmed, see our instructions on uploading images. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:17, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I got a message saying that my submitted article had plagiarized content. I would like to know how I can find out what part was plagiarized, since I tried my best to avoid that from happening. I contacted the person that reported the mistake, but did not get any answer. I would like to know what I need to fix, change or remove before I resubmit. I spent hours making sure I have all the references and followed all the guide lines, while getting help from the helpdek and help forums. It's very sad to see that after all that, my submission was simply deleted with out proper explanation to why or instructions on how to fix it. Appreciate any type of help I can get to get this article back online. Thank You

Regards, RootBoi

How do I add pictures to my new article? Do I have to wait for my account to be 4 days old? Clr65109 (talk) 23:17, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Clr65109: no Declined Yes, you have to be autoconfirmed to upload images. However, your draft is being deleted since it's a copyright violation. In addition to being directly copied from http://aleadingman.com/v2/cast/, this draft is overtly promotional and lacks the independent and reliable sources needed to make a claim of notability.
