Problem with your custom signature

Hello, I'm sending you this note because you need to update your signature. You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Your signature does not link to your account. This is usually because your account has been renamed.

To fix your signature, you need to find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences and either blank it or change the link to your current account name. More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. mw:New requirements for user signatures/Help#Wrong user links. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures.

Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 23:46, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Stifle, the mw:New requirements for user signatures requires a link to this account. This isn't an emergency, but eventually (months? next year?) it will start ignoring your custom sig and substitute the default. Maybe add a link to your contributions? Or change the sig to "[Stifle-alt] is [Stifle]'s alternate account ([Stifle talk])"? (I suspect that you could put the link behind an invisible character, like a thin space, if you didn't want anyone clicking on it.) Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 17:19, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll go sort it later. Stifle (talk) 09:48, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
