Naane Varuven

Hey could you also expand the article for the Dhanush starrier Tamil film Naane Varuven? Theoder2055 (talk) 17:24, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

@Kailash29792: I think so we don’t need to expand the article too much. But I don’t why do we need to expand this article too much. Some IP editor is adding so much of extra information but only the necessary information needs to be added right?

No such rule. If you feel the article is becoming too big, separate articles can be created.

Links

Can you share the links of the poster snippets of Agreement (1992) from The Indian Express? DareshMohan (talk) 18:07, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't even know they existed. Not even many Tamil films got poster ads in IE back then. Kailash29792 (talk) 18:31, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation

Can you make Khatarnak a disambiguation and redirect all the links. There is Khatarnak (1974 film), Khatarnak (2000 film), Khatarnak (2006 film), Khatarnak (2013 film), and Khatarnaak. DareshMohan (talk) 04:52, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like to review the article for Terror Train for GA?MagicatthemovieS (talk) 04:54, 30 April 2024 (UTC)MagicatthemovieS[reply]

Apologies, I'm not into GA reviewing these days due to time constraints. I'm pretty sure you can approach anyone else. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:09, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cast

Is sourcing necessary when the cast member is in credits? Dhamu is in Baashha's opening credits but not in a source. DareshMohan (talk) 07:32, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IMO sourcing is not necessary. Especially when the film is available for public viewing, and not lost or in limbo (like Thendral Sudum). Kailash29792 (talk) 07:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about when the films are only available on subscription services? Alas, I feel the need to source the cast sections. DareshMohan (talk) 01:04, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
For making articles on older Tamil films good quality. DareshMohan (talk) 08:00, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pon Ondru Kanden

You reverted my [1], I don't think so that your theory is correct:

it should be "Pen Ondru Kanden" but they shortened "Ponnu" to "Pon"

Your explanation, would literally transliterate to: Tamil: பெண் ஒன்று கண்டேன், romanized: Peṇ oṉṟu kaṇṭēṉ -> Tamil: பொண்ணு, romanized: Poṇṇu -> Tamil: பொண், romanized: Poṇ / Tamil: பெண், romanized: Peṇ.

If you read the title, it's written: Tamil: பொன், romanized: Poṉ, lit.'Gold'.

Those are different ண், ன், ṇ, ṉ. I don't think so that someone would short such a word to a complete different word.

DareshMohan and Srivin, your input please. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i assume the title pon was kept for more reach among masses, just felt so. Srivin (talk) 13:39, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Even if that's the intent, I'm really not sure to assume something that may be probable, as it's WP:OR. If there's a something like a press from makers side, then we've a clear evidence. The word Pon clearly means Gold this we can't discuss away. Luigi Boy ルアイヂ ボイ talk 15:43, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
