The system of international college signal flags is an adaptation of the international maritime signal flag system using the letters of the alphabet to communicate information between college students.

There are various methods that the flags can be used as signals:

each flag spells out an alphabetic message, letter by letter.
individual flags have specific and standard meanings

A (Alfalfa)
"Help me procrastinate this paper by watching all of season 3 of Project Runway in one sitting (or the like)."
B (Bravo)
"I am in possession of 'dangerous goods'." (May have several interpretations, generally not alcohol, which is listed below.)
C (Charlie)
"Ya; true story; true facts."
D (Delta)
"Parents or other relatives are in the area; proceed with EXTREME caution."
E (Echo)
"I am eating."
F (Foxtrot)
"I am in trouble/broke up with my significant other/have a massive midterm tomorrow that I know I'm going to fail because I've only been to that class twice and the professor hates me; communicate with me so I can vent."
