The system of international college signal flags is an adaptation of the international maritime signal flag system using the letters of the alphabet to communicate information between college students.

There are various methods that the flags can be used as signals:

  • each flag spells out an alphabetic message, letter by letter.
  • individual flags have specific and standard meanings
