Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Culture of Ukraine → Ukrainian culture (currently a redirect back to Culture of Ukraine) (move · discuss) – No sources in the article are talking about "Culture of Ukraine" but of "Ukrainian culture" as well as article content. ManyAreasExpert (talk) 19:42, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Illusion (Dua Lipa song) (currently a redirect to Illusion (song)) → Illusion (song) (move · discuss) – WP:SONGDAB 162 etc. (talk) 15:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Local TV Liverpool (currently a redirect to Liverpool TV) → Liverpool TV (move · discuss) – name has reverted back, a redirect already exists so I couldn't complete the move. Orange sticker (talk) 15:11, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (currently a redirect to CPH:DOX) → CPH:DOX (move · discuss) – Official name, and consistent with CPH:PIX Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:53, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Laterthanyouthink The latter page is at CPH PIX (without the colon). --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 14:30, 14 May 2024 (UTC)- And I'd argue that it should be at CPH Pix, per MOS:ALLCAPS. 162 etc. (talk) 16:09, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hmm, okay, I see. It seems that the DOX one does have the semi-colon, whereas PIX never did, as far as I can see. I have also now discovered that PIX had its last event in 2021 and is now defunct. Should I make this a RM to discuss further? Happy to go with whatever is decided, but CPH:DOX is the form that is used pretty much universally for this one. - Ball (association football) → Football (association football) (currently a redirect back to Ball (association football)) (move · discuss) – Per MOS:BOLDLEAD. Neo Purgatorio (talk) 15:33, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not uncontroversial. 162 etc. (talk) 15:42, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not particularly sure how it's controversial. Three out of four of the bolded names in the lead contain "football." The entire article uses the word "football." Neo Purgatorio (talk) 15:48, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Because Football (association football) could refer to the sport itself? 162 etc. (talk) 16:05, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

- Ishara (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Ishara) → Ishara (move · discuss) – The former page occupying the name Ishara has been moved to Išḫara. The disambiguation page should instead be moved to the general page name. Antiquistik (talk) 16:54, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thoda Sa Badal Thoda Sa Paani (currently a redirect to Thodasa Badal Thodasa Paani) → Thodasa Badal Thodasa Paani (move · discuss) – correction 103.185.174.170 (talk) 17:42, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- LiveChat Software (currently a redirect to Text (company)) → Text (company) (move · discuss) – company has changed its name 31.60.21.26 (talk) 18:34, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Intoxicated (Oxlade song) (currently a redirect to Intoxycated) → Intoxycated (move · discuss) – Title is spelled incorrectly; as a result the disambiguator will not be needed. However, a redirect for the same song is in the way at the target page. Richard3120 (talk) 20:23, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Pallar → Devendrakula Velalar (currently a redirect instead to Devendrakulam) (move · discuss) – Parliament Passes Bill To Classify 7 Scheduled Caste Groups Of Tamil Nadu As 'Devendrakula Velalars', having a page as pallar to refer as devendrakula Velalar is not right. It’s better to move this page as Devendrakula Velalar as it comprises 7 subcastes. The Indian Government parliament ammendment has been given for viewing where pallar and others 6 subcastes don’t exist in the government records.
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Page I want to move it to is currently a redirect. worldgiant (talk) 04:39, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Articles related to Indian castes are inherently controversial. – robertsky (talk) 09:40, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Worldgiant: This move is potentially controversial, so it would require a requested-move discussion, which you can begin by clicking "discuss" on your request. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). SilverLocust 💬 20:26, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

- Hittite mythology and religion → Hittite religion (currently a redirect back to Hittite mythology and religion) (move · discuss) – All comparable pages listed in Template:Ancient Near East topics are either "X religion" or "X mythology", but not "X mythology and religion", so the name should be changed to just one for consistency. The lead is already about the concept of Hittite religion, and "X religion" pages are more common than "X mythology", so I chose "Hittite religion". Hittite religion is also the much more common web search compared to Hittite mythology, and "Hittite mythology and religion" doesnt even show up: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=Hittite+religion%2CHittite+mythology%2CHittite+mythology+and+religion&year_start=1800&year_end=2019&corpus=en-2019&smoothing=3 Pogenplain (talk) 16:02, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I dunno, I think since the article covers both mythology and religion, topics that are often separate articles, I think it fair for the title to mention both. — Amakuru (talk) 23:01, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

- Friesland (disambiguation) → Friesland (move · discuss) – per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:NCLANG PK2 (talk) 13:30, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't agree with this, and have reverted the recent move from Friesland to Friesland (province). The province seems the primary topic for this Dutch/German term when rendered in English, given that the region is usually called Frisia. — Amakuru (talk) 13:45, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
